Breyden | MAT Foundry Group

Breyden is a leading manufacturer of brake and drive components with a long industrial tradition and a clear focus on innovation and sustainability.
Emerging from sites formerly belonging to Buderus Guss, Bosch, and the MAT Group, Breyden combines the technical excellence of a large corporation with the agility of a medium-sized company.
Our portfolio includes high-quality cast and precision parts for the automotive industry – from classic and coated brake discs (including lightweight versions with in-house manufactured aluminum pots) to brake calipers, ready-to-install differential gears, and other sophisticated components in series production.
Breyden is one of the innovation leaders in the field of emission-reduced braking systems and is a pioneer in the market launch of the first-generation iDisc. Breyden is once again setting standards with the next Euro 7-compliant generation. Renowned OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in Europe and worldwide rely on our development and manufacturing expertise – both in the passenger car and commercial vehicle segments.

The Challenge

Following its spin-off from an international group of companies, the aim is to develop Breyden into a fully independent, medium-sized industrial company—with clear responsibility for results, independent processes, and sustainable profitability.

Our Approach

We are strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the company, establishing a performance-oriented, hands-on SME culture, and investing specifically in low-carbon production technologies, automation, and digitalization.

Our Impact

Breyden is transforming itself from a loss-making, energy-intensive group of companies into a profitable, growth-oriented, and climate-friendly medium-sized enterprise—ready for the mobility of the future.
